These pieces emerge from years of experience in painting landscapes and iconic local beaches in oils.
Following a rare break from my painting practice, I returned to the studio with a desire for new direction in my work. This collection shows the paintings created soon after discovering acrylics, a medium that ignited new ideas with its vivid colours and fast drying time.

I experimented with abstraction but kept seeing faces in the paint. So I followed the faces in a semi abstracted way, creating bold patterns, strong contrasts, vibrant colours, and really enjoyed the medium. It felt liberating to explore images beyond reality and colour them as I wished, using just imagination and my new acrylic paints.
